Juicer Reviews - How To Choose A Juicer To Fit Your Lifestyle

Eating a healthy balanced diet along with exercising is something we should all be striving to achieve. Buying a juicer is just one step on your quest for a healthier you. A daily glass of freshly made juice will provide you with vitamins and nutrients that are so important to keep your body healthy and working properly.

Today's juicers are easy to use and clean, and can be prepared first thing in the morning to set you up for your day. You can get the whole family involved making different tasty, healthy drinks.

Choosing a Juicer

The most popular types of Juicers are the centrifugal and masticating juicers, both of which will give you different things. Before you purchase any juicer, think about what you will want to juice. Are you going to juice just your everyday fruits and vegetables, citrus fruit, or greens and grasses?

I would also recommend you read juicer reviews and consider you price range, as juicing should be a part of everyday life, not just a gadget sat on the worktop.

Centrifugal Juicer

A centrifugal juicer will juice most types of fruit and vegetables. These types of juicers are fast to produce your juice, as they use spinning blades that cut and shred the ingredients at very high resolutions per minute. Due to this process it is recommended that you consume your drink as soon as you can to make sure you are benefiting from all the vitamins and nutrients.

The waste or pulp is dispensed in to a pulp bin usually located at the back of the juicer, and the dryer your pulp the better your juicer is at extracting juice from your chosen fruits and vegetables. If you are more likely to juice greens and grasses like spinach or wheatgrass then you may want to consider a masticating juicer, which does a better job of extracting juices. If it's mainly your average fruits or vegetables you want to juice, then a centrifugal juicer would be recommended and will not cost the earth.

Masticating Juicer

A masticating juicer will offer you the added benefits of being able to juice grasses and greens over a centrifugal juicer. Juices made with grasses and greens are said to have the highest levels of vitamins and enzymes over any other type of juice drink.

A masticating juicer does not come cheap so you will need to consider if this is the type of juice drinks you will want to prepare. They take slightly longer preparing juice over a centrifugal juicer as they run on low speeds, grinding and chewing the produces which helps preserve all the nutrients. The pulp is very dry from a masticating juicer, getting the highest juice yield possible from your fruits and vegetables.

Citrus Juicer

A citrus juicer is a handy little juicer for all your citrus juice drinks. They are quick to operate, fast to produce juice and simple to clean. It's worth looking for an electric model, with a stainless steel screen that catches all the pips and pulp, giving you a smooth, pure juice. They are a lot cheaper than other types of juicer, but will only juice citrus fruits.

Twin Gear Juicer

If you are looking at twin gear juicers you are probably experienced in juicing or are looking for specific ingredients to improve a health condition. Like a masticating juicer, a twin gear juicer crushes and grinds the fruits and vegetables to release all the nutrients and enzymes possible.

The speed at which they juice is slow which is said to be better for the juice as it eliminates oxidation to the juice, which in turn means the juice can be stored for later drinking. The juice produced has virtually no foam, and these machines are fantastic for juicing leafy vegetables and grasses like wheatgrass.

On the down side these machine are expensive, and more difficult to clean. They will take longer in producing juice, and as feed chutes are smaller, more chopping of the produce will be required. If you are new to juicing I would be recommend looking at the other types of juicers first.
